Regularly test the water using a test kit to maintain these conditions. Be cautious not to exceed 150 ppm of cyanuric acid. It is generally suggested to drain spas and hot tubs every 30-90 days, especially under heavy use. Consult the manufacturer's guidelines to ensure compatibility between chlorine sanitizers and their equipment. Certain oils, lotions, fragrances, and cleaners can cause foaming or cloudiness, and may reduce the effectiveness of chlorine sanitizers. START-UP (FRESHLY FILLED): Here are the steps for starting up your spa or hot tub: 1. Ensure that the circulation system is functioning properly by turning it on. 2. Add 6 teaspoons of this product for every 500 gallons of water. 3. Check the free available chlorine (FAC) level and repeat the dosage if it falls below 4-5 ppm. Remember that re-entering the treated spa is not recommended if the chlorine level exceeds 3 ppm.
